At first Sony had it sorted no other contenders until the launch of the PS2. This was when Nintendo came back with their Nintendo amecube. But this was no match for the PS2, the size of the disks gave it limited games and graphics. But in 2002 the XBOX launched, this was PS2 death but since it was released last not as many people bought it and kept their good on PS2.
But now Microsoft have released the XBOX 360, Nintendo Have released the Nintendo Wii and Sony have launched the PS3. The XBOX 360 was launched in 2005 1 year before the wii and and 2 years before the PS3. But Sony's late release of the PS3 let it down to most of it previous owners and most of them had got bored of their PS2 and bought themselves a XBOX 360. The XBOX 360 offers exactly the same as what the PS3 offers you but a Monthly subscription is needed to play online, which in the PS3 its free to play online. The PS3 makes up though for its release with its blue-ray player, which comes free inside. This lets you have much onlger games then the Wii and XBOX 360 and gives you much better graphics.
The Nintendo Wii or the really expensive party toy as I like to call it is the worst out of the 3 and offers a whole new way to play but lacks on good graphics. The Wiimote and Nunchuck give a whole new way to play games but is this really the best way to play games? No.
