These are some of the best games on the PlayStation 3 available. The PlayStation has many more excellent games available and many due for release in 2008 that will delight and entertain for hours. I will review those as soon as possible. These are my favourites.
PES2008
The widely acclaimed daddy of footy simulations is on the PS3 . The tweaked gameplay and improved off the ball reactions that your players make whilst playing makes for a superb first PS3 game for the mighty Pro Evolution. The latest team line-ups and players are all there and accurately model their real world counterparts, Wayne Rooney will handle weak challenges from defenders, Christiano Ronaldo is skilful and fast on the ball. If you love the game of association football, you need to own this game.
Gran Turismo5Prologue
The PlayStation and Sony would not be half as successful without this title. Driving the very latest cars around tracks in full high definition and accurate vehicle handling is spot on and racing made twice the fun online. Although it is only a whet of the appetite until the full Gran Turismo 5 debuts, it is well worth its budget price tag and is great fun for all racing fans. Ferrari's debut in the series with a host of cars to choose from including the classic F40 is a treat for true petrol heads around the world. Serious drivers will love this game and long for the full version, which will contain the "Top Gear" test track from the popular motor show.
Call of Duty4:Modern Warfare
Call of Duty ditched its World War II past and went straight for the kill with modern war. The latest weapons and battle scenarios was created for this latest outing and make for a more complete experience of war. As well as fighting on the ground with the usual arsenal of guns and grenades, you may now also take to the skies in helicopter gunships and fire 105mm rounds at the enemy. The depth of gameplay, the sounds and details painstakingly put into this game make killing and dying so much fun. This is the new benchmark in war simulation.
MotorStorm
One of the launch titles of the PlayStation 3 and still one of the best racers out there. The multi route off road tracks and thrash metal soundtrack make this an exciting adrenaline pumped racer. Race in a wide variety of bikes, trucks, ATVs and rally cars in MotorStorm and use the routes suited for your individual vehicle for the best chance of winning. The Nitrous Boost feature helps win the races if you can avoid the obstacles on the track and the opposition. Marvel at the detail of the racing and gasp as your TV screen, splattered with mud from your vehicle, picks out the smallest graphical details put into the game to make it shine.
Assassin's Creed
The depth and realism of this game will astound and entertain you for a long time. Taking control of Altair, the assassin of the title you will make your way through superbly detailed cities and towns based in the Holy Land; Jerusalem, Damascus and Acre. Full crowds and population coupled with details in every brick and every crack in the pavement will give you so much pleasure from playing. Mission will involve snooping on conversations, stealing important information from messengers, rescuing people from captivity and swashbuckling swordfights. The interactions with beggars and drunks will leave you smiling also.
