Genso Suikoden is for PlayStation and PlayStation Portable platforms. It's roleplaying game and there can be 6 characters in battle. It has very interesting story. Young hero Tir lives with his dad and fellows Ted (best friend) Gremio, Pahn and Cleo. His dad Teo McDohl is one of the king Barbarossa's generals and he's sent to battle in the northlands, leaving his son under the fellows guardianship. King Barbarossa becomes hypnotized by evil Windy. Tir's best friend Ted holds rune of life and death, and Empire wants it so hero and his companions has to flee from capital city, then they finds Liberation Army's leader Odessa Silveberg and joins her army to fight against Empire.
You get your own castle later at game where you can gather all 108 characters of the game, they are everywhere at the map. When our heroes are at the underground prison saving one old man, Gremio sacrifices himself for other characters by letting flesh-eating spores to ambush him when other have time to escape. That's one sad act that I remember.
