Most people will poke around corners aiming at head height then use your advantage

When going around corners stop just before the corner and use the right analogue stick to look around the corner
Pick Your Weapon Carefully
I recommend the M4 custom because of the balance between power and accuracy or the P90 because the large clip size
Sniping
When sniping plant claymores or magazines around you to prevent the enemy from sneaking up on you. Don't always look through the scope use the over the shoulder view to have a wider view of the terrain.

When confronted in a battle that you can not win roll to cover.
Use the Pickups
The night vision pick-up is very useful when equipped it makes the enemy stand out from the background and makes headshots easier. The oil drum can be turned on the side and rolled with you in it! This can be used to knock over people in narrow streets and to cross wide areas safely. But don't roll to long or you'll puke!
