Battlefield Bad Company
The game that really got me into online gaming in the first place was Battlefield 2 on the PC, and when I purchased my PS3 in March, I was delighted to find that there was a Battlefield game coming specially for the console (with a single player campaign as well). My first impressions I have to say were sceptical as I was so blown away by the shear brilliance of BF2 on the PC, that I thought a game of such great multiplayer would fall long short on the console, and the single player was there way of compensating for this flaw. I do still ask myself “why not but it on PC”.
However upon finishing the campaign and finally getting the bloody game to connect to an online server, I was dumbfounded on how they managed to create a hole new game mode, on a hole new engine, and still manage to keep the fast paced, destructive game, I had come to know and love on the PC. Blowing up enemy buildings, using neat new gadgets, and talking with team mates, all combined with the PS3 sweet, hi def graphics made playing BFBC a joy. This game in my personal opinion was the game the PS3 was needing online. Sure resistance was a laugh, and COD4 destroyed the competition, not to mention GTA4 finally coming to the new world of gaming, but when it all boils down to it you can't beat experience, and that is what the Battlefield franchise is, when coming to online gaming.
As for the single player, that's a different story ( not a bad one though).
But if your in the shops, and in need of a good game to get your heart racing, that BFBC is a definite choice, at least download the FREE demo on the Playstation Store, and see for yourself what a masterful game it really is!
