What’s so great about this title you may ask? Well nobody really knew before the limited BETA was released, and since then this game has taken those lucky few people by storm.
In LBP you take control of either a Sackboy or Sackgirl and play through (and create) these extremely bizarre and fantastic environments, where your goal is to make it from one end to the other, while solving some of the most ingenious puzzles. Players can create custom environments, which other players will get the chance to play also, either by themselves or with friends (YEAH! SACK PARTY!).
LBP is undoubtedly best played with friends, since some of the puzzles do require c-operative play, and also because it’s a quality hang-out experience.
The graphics of LBP are spectacular. Its so colorful and the textures are extremely sharp and precise, and the game is just filled with so much detail. Sackboy looks so awesome, that when you first see him you’ll probably be like “Woah…”
You can also customize your character in a huge number of ways. You can make him wear glasses, helmets, masks and so much more. You can dress him up like a Roman general or even like Frankenstein if you want to. There’s like almost no bound to the customization options in the game.
Now on to the main thing, Level creation. This is the main thing about LBP, creating levels which other people can play and admire your work. You can stretch the limits of your imagination to create completely unique works, which could turn out to be incredible or disastrous. When you’re in create mode, your character flies around the screen on a jetpack, and you create the various things you want in your level. You can also use a series of pre-made objects and vehicles that are shipped with the game, or earned after completing levels created by other players. You can also place stickers in the game, which are any pictures from the game or in your hard-drive.
LBP is a fantastic game which is all about creativity and a cool way to hang-out with friends. This game is a must-have for anyone with a Playstation 3.
