Console Wars (Playstation 3 V.s Xbox 360)

which one to go for ? I pour my brain out...
Which one? I write this based on hours of research on the internet without bias. Below is rationale of the best system for Me. take it or leave it you will make your own choice. Xbox 360 or PS3?

Xbox is THE system at first - Great shooter game selection which is what i want (nothing like killing someone to end lifes frustration, without picking up soap for the next 25 years), both consoles appear more or less even on graphics (I researched that xbox may be slightly better given its shader compliant architecture--but look at web comparisons for yourself and not much is different aside from slight contrast between the two systems). If you dont have a HD tv like me forget this issue I say. Ps3 can support 1080p but todays games dont use it and both systems will run games at 720 res anyway..Ps3 boys talk of the Future..likely in the next year (2009) games will emerge that will adopt 1080p and will make more use of the 7 core multithread architecture boasted by PS3...but right now game formats appear to favor Xbox shader processing power (and architecture simplicity). Having said that the Ps3 awkward, ahead of its time all powerful but out of place technology in my opinion keeps up with Xbox 360 NOW!!! and i will leave the future for Gandalf, surely cant get worse.

Gamewise, well i do like the xbox game range...its all personal preference. I grew up with tom clancys games and gta...available on both systems. I understand that ps3 means no 'fighterpilot 6' mayhem and xbox means no 'cool racer 5' burnouts... exclusive titles. If you cant live wihout an exclusive title like Halo then buy xbox..its all about games bottom line. Otherwise you will never be satisfied.

Although Xbox seems like the cheaper choice I started adding what i will need to play in comfort: 20 g console = 280Euro, Additional fan 20 Euro [will get one because i want to avoid the heat issues that have plaqued this console as much as possible (red ring of death - check out youtube for people tearing their hair out), I could wait for the end of the Falcon chip era in Xbox 360 until they start churning out the 45nm next generation processors with less heat buildup - but I will see these at the end of 2008, I wanna play now!!!!! By the way get the latest HDMI slot containing xbox model...they may have less issues due to better heat sink setup...only speculation about improved reliability]. Then comes the 30 euro console battery charger, a must. We are on 330 Euro. The phenomenal Xbox live gold subscription 12 moth is 60 euro [trust me you will want multiplayer with the next generation console and for this you must pay with xbox..its a kickass service i heard, unbeatable in game chat/ collect gamer points/meet with your pals and interact while downloading from game demo service+ millions of users..but there goes the total now at 390 Euro. I will buy the two titles i want to play with multiplayer: gtaIV and vegas, thats 390 + 60 + 60 = no peanuts 510 Euro.

PS3 means a hefty 440 Euro base 40 g system (20 g more than the xbox though). No fan will be bought as I understand 5% industry failure rate is realistic for this console. No charger required as the USB driven wire fed bluetooth controller can charge from my PC when not using console (a life still exists for me outside of play). I do get what i consider here free the WiFi and the industry chosen blu-ray drive, the latter of which is a futuristic bonus given i wanted a gaming console not a multi purpose media hub. So when i do get the 1080p 42"LCD in 2009 or 10 when its cheaper..i could catch a flick with blu-ray.

Now, no xbox live means free PS3 network- not as fancy and I will not have as much fun. But i just want to log onto a server and kill people i dont know, not chat with them--my skill against that of the unknown--Thats how it used to be on PC in the old days and i think i will survive without the bells and whistles of LIVE. PS3 is bringing out the Home service and again more promises this time of a better multiedia experience but I think Live will be hard to beat---that said, a simple multiplayer experience I think is enough for me and only can get better, for free! [Also, a higher number of players can be included in Ps3 multiplayer over the xbox 16 standard, in GTAIV city this would be welcome for me]So we are still on 440 Euro. + the 2 games = 560 Euro.

So in the end xbox = 510 and the ps3 = 560...really whats 50 Euro between pals if youre spending half a grand on console entertainment. I must say I am disappointed that choosing ps3 will mean for example no ace combat 6, but I will choose ps3 on other apparent truths:

-less likely to fail given todays 360 reputation.
-quieter console hands down
-multiplayer free forever
-throws in a few other features mentioned at nearly no extra cost
-excellent shooter titles I grew up with are available (how many can you play?) + other titles.

Lol you're seriously about to take advise from someone that can't even write...... hahahaha reading this made me laugh soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard. If you write something make sure people can understand what your saying!! without reading it ten times... and by the way half of this stuff isn't true to begin with.

sorry, but im gonna have to disgree with you, I prefer the 360.
