An intense FPS game with extremely good graphics and great online gameplay. (I don't play single-player that much).
When I bought my computer 2 years ago, I paid $2500 to dell for an XPS 600 PC. It's a hefty investment but I thought it was worth it, and it was! I could play any of the most bran new games on the highest settings possible and not have so much as a slight jump on the screen ever.
I have a NVIDIA 7800 video card and for most of the games 2 years ago up until present the recommended video card for games was way below my 7800, up until now, finally, my card is recommended for Call of Duty 4. This means that I'm starting to slack off in keeping up to date with my PC. However, I can still run the graphics at full and resolution at 1280x1024... for about 20 minutes. Then my monitor goes to standby mode, and I can hear the game freeze up.
Nothing I try will make the screen comeback, so I am forced to shutdown my PC using the power button on the tower. I began to search the internet for similar problems and i found few people who had similar problems. They mostly described monitor problems, lowering the resolution on the game will help with that. But my problem is with my CPU, and it overheating. So, if you are having this problem, my solution: Set up a fan for your new computer, and invest in more internal fans. Keep your computer as cool as possible.
